I’ve ponied up a little extra to sit in the RA Vance stand this morning, but I’ve an annoying old man sat behind me who insists on drumming his feet on the plastic chair beside me. And because all the chairs are connected, this jiggles me too. Arse.
I’ve finished my cricket season now with a late flurry of wickets and runs. I managed 5-24 in a rain affected penultimate game, which was the best return for our team of the season. And in the last game, my batting finally came right and I managed 53 not out coming in at number 8. That included some reasonable defence at the beginning as we collapsed even further from 71/6 to 73/9. But I hit 2 x 6 and 8 x 4 to put on 50 for the final wicket – my timng was finally clicking. John picked up 3 runs in that partership of about 10 overs, but he is really difficult to get out. Pity it took me ’til the last game to get my batting right.
